Windows 7 SharedView

SharedView is a cool application that lets you connect with up to 15 other users from anywhere in the world. SharedView makes it even easier to conduct meetings and conference calls. You can share your desktop, files, send messages and do much more. This is a free application, so check it out.

Using SharedView

SharedView is very easy to get up and running in just a few minutes. Download the application from the link above and then run the installer wizard. It should install in less than a minute.

Once installed, just double the click the SharedView icon and sign in. Once you have signed in with a Windows Live ID, you can then begin sharing by starting a new session or joining an existing session. You can join an existing session without an ID.

There are various configuration options available for SharedView. These are all pretty self explanatory. Just choose the options that best suits your setup and requirements.

Once you are logged in, you can invite other users to join, or you can join an existing session. When a session is started, you can choose what to share. This can include applications or your entire desktop. You can also send messages to all of the participants.

Overall SharedView is a very handy application for virtual conferencing and meetings. It is extremely easy to use and we certainly plan on giving it a full test run in the near future.

• Supported Operating Systems: Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1; Windows Vista Home Premium; Windows Vista Service Pack 1; Windows Vista Ultimate; Windows XP Service Pack 2; Windows XP Service Pack 3

• Memory: Minimum 256 MB of RAM (512 MB recommended)
  
• Hard disk: 10 MB of free hard disk space
  
• Display: Minimum 800 * 600 screen resolution (1024 * 768 recommended)
  
• Applications: DirectX 8.0 or higher installed on your computer.
  
• Internet connection: Broadband Internet access, 300 kbs minimum. Slower connections may work, but the experience may not be optimal.
  
• A Windows Live ID if you want to start your own sessions (you do not need one to join someone else's session).
